Time
SJTI will begin promptly at 6pm on Monday evening, June 11, 2012 and end by noon on Friday, June 15, 2012. NOTE: SJTI is an Institute, and so all participants are expected to be present throughout all sessions.

Lodging
Participants will need to arrange their own travel, lodging and meals. Rooms will be available at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place. Rates: *$128.00* a night (doubles and singles). Reservations for the event will be made by individual attendees directly with the hotel at (413) 781-1010 or Sheraton Reservations at 800-426-9004. Be sure to mention you are attending SJTI to get access to our room block. The group rate may be available prior and after the program dates based on availability. Attendees must call hotel reservations directly at (413) 781-1010 in order to book sleeping rooms on days outside of the contracted room block. Requests will be accommodated on a space availability basis only.

Current check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out time is noon.

Reservations by attendees must be received on or before May 13, 2012 (the "Cutoff Date"). At the Cutoff Date, the hotel will review the reservation pickup for the Event and release the unreserved rooms for general sale. Reservations received after 5:00pm (local time) on the Cutoff Date will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis.

Please do not make your reservation until after you receive confirmation that you have been selected as a participant (after April 20, 2012).

Getting to Springfield
We ask that all participants plan on being in Springfield by around 4pm on Monday so you can get settled and fed and be ready to start at 6pm.

Most major airlines fly directly into Bradley International Airport, Hartford, CT. Transfers from Bradley International Airport to the Sheraton in Springfield, MA are provided by several Limo services in the area. Here's the link to do your investigating: http://www.bradleyairport.com/Transport/limo.aspx. We strongly suggest that you make reservations and receive a confirmation number. All major rental car companies are represented at Bradley International Airport. Hotel parking is about $10/night. The hotel is about 20+ minutes from the airport with good traffic. TAXIS are another option. You might consider sharing a taxi with other participants.

Registration
Cost of registration is $675.00. If you are interested in participating, the deadline for applications is April 2, 2012. Our hope is to notify applicants of our decisions around April 20, 2012. Since there is a limited number of participants, we will be intentional in selecting participants to create a balance in social group identities as much as possible.

The Employee Identification Number for SJTI is: *32-0246935*. Your institution or place of work might need this number if you are requesting a reimbursement from them. SJTI also has a PayPal account if you need to pay using a credit card. Please note that there is a surcharge if you use PayPal bringing registration to $720. Partial payments are accepted as well — just let Jessica Pettitt know what you need and we will work it out!

After you submit your application, you should be directed to a confirmation page. If you do not receive this confirmation or have any difficulties submitting your application, contact Jessica to make sure that your application was received.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the fact that we select institute participants, 20 - 30 applicants are not selected each time we hold an institute. As a result, we have instituted the following cancellation policy. If you cancel your registration 45 - 30 days from the first day of the institute, there is a $100.00 penalty. If you cancel 12 - 30 days out, there is a $150.00 penalty. If you cancel under 15 days, there will be no refund. We do however honor those who would like to "roll their registration fee payment over" and attend a future institute. This "roll over" can only apply for the December 2012 and June 2013 institutes.

Scholarships
Each year, we offer a limited number of $100.00 scholarships that will be used to offset the cost of the institute. These scholarships are based on financial need. We are hoping to model the concept of "Ubuntu", the honoring of the community over the individual and the sharing of resources for the good of all. In this spirit we ask that you reflect on needs in relation to those of others. If you are interested in this scholarship, please complete that section on the on-line application.

Future Institutes
Another institute will be held in Long Beach, California, Monday - Friday, December 3-7, 2012. Information on this institute will be posted after July 15, 2012.
